We are a husband & wife team. Based in the mountains of Montana & Washington State, we’ve been photographing and filming couples since the start of 2021.
Welcome to our blog where you’ll discover elopement planning resources, as well as beautiful galleries from real weddings!
These two flew from Texas to elope in one of the most beautiful National Parks: Glacier National Park. They brought the most incredible western boho cowgirl/boy vibes ever! It was such a fun elopement in Glacier, and definitely one that we’ll never forget.
There are 3 main towns near the West Glacier entrance: Columbia Falls, Kalispell, and Whitefish. Columbia Falls is often referred to as the “Gateway to Glacier National Park” because it is the closest town to the West Glacier entrance of the park. Whitefish is known for it’s ski resort: Whitefish Mountain Resort. But it’s also known as a bougie mountain town because it has a lot of good restaurants, cute Airbnbs, and things to do year-round. Kalispell is the largest of the three. It’s a pretty large city, as far as Montana goes, with almost 30,000 people (as of 2023).
Our couple stayed on the outskirts of Kalispell at Clark Farm Silos. Clark Farm has 5 Silos, each with a king bed, sleeper sofa, bathroom, and outdoor fire pit. It’s the perfect little getaway for you and your honey!
Some other great West Glacier stays include:
West Glacier Cabin Village or RV Park
2 Bedroom Scenic House w/ Large Porch Space
Container Home in Columbia Falls
Awesome Riverside House Near West Glacier (great for hosting a small dinner!)
Epic Meadowlark Treehouse Stay
Glacier National Park does a great job of having designated ceremony locations throughout the park. Here are some things to know when choosing a ceremony location:
For their ceremony, we chose the Ryan Beach location on Lake McDonald (see the above picture). This spot originally included the meadow, but due to scarring, the meadow is no longer available. Please make sure to only use the shore and durable surfaces for a ceremony here. For a complete list of available ceremony locations, check out the map we made below!
These two chose to have a picnic along Lake McDonald for lunch, complete with charcuterie, cake, and wine! It was a really windy afternoon on the lake, and even in picnic area, but we made it work 😉
We always recommend setting aside time to eat on your elopement day. And why not make it a cute little picnic setup?? If you decide to have a picnic for your elopement, definitely hire Bakes and Cakes by Brie (for a freaking delicious homemade cake) and The Kopper Kitchen (for yummy and aesthetically pleasing charcuterie displays).
There are so many ways to incorporate food on your elopement day, whether it’s with or without guests. Here are some things we recommend: a brunch tablescape, picnic charcuterie, takeout, a food truck/ice cream truck, a private chef for dinner, cooking together, a campout, or renting part of a restaurant.
There are so many epic spots to take portraits in Glacier! When going over locations with Leah and Laramie, we landed on exploring the McDonald River and Logan Pass. Adam and I mapped out a bunch of little stops for them, so that they could experience as much of the western part of the park as possible. We found a beautiful, private spot with a waterfall, and then we had Big Bend all to ourselves for the evening!
We have a list of all the awesome trails, river/lakeside hangs, and roadside stops that we recommend in Glacier! For each couple, we talk about what they want and then create a customized list of suggestions. These two wanted to stay close to the western side of the park, see as many little stops as they could, and get huge mountain views! I definitely think we accomplished that!
