We are a husband & wife team. Based in the mountains of Montana & Washington State, we’ve been photographing and filming couples since the start of 2021.
Welcome to our blog where you’ll discover elopement planning resources, as well as beautiful galleries from real weddings!
In the beginning of their relationship, Chloe & Jackson’s love story resembled ours. They met in high school (just like us), and Chloe had a crush on Jackson first (just like us). We share a lot of other similarities with these two as well! We all have a love for the outdoors, and we all enjoy hiking and camping. So, naturally, the four of us became pretty good friends while Adam and I helped them plan their Mount Baker Wilderness small wedding.
Initially, they didn’t know where they wanted to elope, except that they knew it had to be in Washington state. The two of them had done a lot of prior exploration in Olympic National Park and Mount Rainier National Park, but they were open to suggestions. So, when we curated a list of epic elopement locations in Washington, we added some from all different areas. After seeing this spot, and hiking it themselves, they fell in love! It’s a small area in the Mount Baker Wilderness up near Artist Point. There are tons of hiking trails to explore and some small lakes.
Before heading to the elopement location, Chloe & Jackson got ready with some of their family and friends at a large Airbnb in the local town of Glacier, WA. We helped them set up a first look on the upper deck, with their guests watching from the grass below. We took a few fun portraits and knocked out some family portraits as well.
After portraits at the Airbnb, we drove 40 minutes to their ceremony location. We were going to spontaneously pick a place to set up once we arrived! We gathered all of the things we needed, and then we set off just the four of us. The rest of their family and friends stayed up by the parking lot to give Chloe & Jackson privacy for their vows. After walking a short while, the happy couple picked a beautiful spot where they could see the lake below and watch the sun set over the mountains in front of them. We set up a small picnic for them to enjoy! They brought some non-alcoholic bubbly, grapes, and crackers to munch on.
Then, we walked down the hill a little bit and found the most EPIC spot for them to privately exchange vows. They had actually gotten legally married a few weeks prior when they were visiting their friends back in Colorado! But now they got to exchange vows at sunset and officially commit themselves to each other! It was beautiful. And I can’t imagine a more amazing place than the Mount Baker Wilderness!!!
We took some portraits before and after the sun disappeared behind the mountains. Because of the fact that the sun was going to hide behind the mountains in front of us, we had to celebrate a couple hours before sunset. So, this is your reminder to always keep in mind the terrain when planning your elopement timeline! A lot of mountainous locations require additional planning, especially if you’re trying to capture sun rays or alpenglow.
