Brady + Connor’s Fishing & Wildflower Photoshoot in Big Sky

We met these two at an awesome location along the Gallatin River at the end of summer for a couples adventure session. Due to some traffic, they ended up arriving just after the sun had disappeared behind the trees and hill near us. But it was totally okay because it made for some beautiful, even lighting along the river, and in the field.

Brady and Connor started in the river with their fly fishing rods, hoping to catch some Rainbow Trout! We unfortunately didn’t end up getting any bites, but it was still super fun to capture them in their element 🤩 These two fly fish, horseback ride, hike, and do ALLLLL the outdoorsy things! They didn’t grow up in Montana, but since moving here, they’ve sure taken on the true Montanan lifestyle, owning several horses, and partaking in all the adventurous activities that Montana has to offer. It’s so fun meeting other couples that enjoy the outdoors just as much as (if not more than) me and Adam.

Adventurous Montana Couples Session Ideas

The cool thing about photographing a Montana adventurous couples session is that there are an endless number of things you can do and places to go! It was difficult to just narrow down a location for this fly fishing photoshoot because there are so many rivers that run in and around Bozeman. We chose to explore the mighty Gallatin River, but you can also check out the Madison, Missouri, Yellowstone, Smith, or Jefferson rivers!

And if fly fishing isn’t your cup of tea, we’ve also photographed couples fishing from a drift boat, horseback riding, paddle boarding, and camping in Bozeman! But there are so many other epic adventures you could include in a couples or engagement session here in Montana. Some awesome ideas include: exploring Glacier National Park, overnight backpacking, mountain biking, swimming, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, sledding, picnicking, rock climbing, hot air ballooning, riding ATVs, or boating just to name a few!

Best Wildflower Couples Session Locations Near Bozeman, Montana

This awesome wildflower meadow along the Gallatin River was the perfect spot for a summertime adventure session! Adam and I scouted it out prior to the session, and it’s not become one of our favorite “secret spots.” But some other awesome places to check out the wildflowers in Bozeman include the quintessential College M Trail, Hyalite Reservoir, Sypes Canyon, and the South Cottonwood Trail. If you’re looking for great wildflower locations, make sure to hire a photographer that knows their stuff and follows Leave No Trace principles. Please make sure to stay on trail where necessary, and not trample any wildflower meadows!
