We are a husband & wife team. Based in the mountains of Montana & Washington State, we’ve been photographing and filming couples since the start of 2021.
Welcome to our blog where you’ll discover elopement planning resources, as well as beautiful galleries from real weddings!
This was one of our absolute favorite engagement sessions! We met an hour or so before sunset to capture that golden light on the horizon. We planned it so that we’d get some yummy light filtering in through the gaps in the rock formations. Knowing your location and where the light is going to be (even when it’s overcast) is SO important! Adam and I like to scout out all of our elopement and engagement session locations ahead of time. And if we can’t, we try to do as much online research as possible. This helps us plan how we’re going to direct our couples, and whether or not we’ll be using backlight or having our couples face towards the sun.
As you scroll through this beautiful session, you’ll see that the way I oriented these two gives such a different feel for the image! I used a lot of backlight and focused on different ways to capture the sunshine behind Jen and Nate. But then, I also had them face towards the light while I photographed them from the side. This created warmth without direct sun showing in the image.
I truly had an incredible time getting to know these two and it was such a fun evening coastal engagement session! Here’s what they had to say about working with me:
“I came across VTE‘s profile on Instagram and immediately knew I wanted them for our engagement photos. We were really fortunate that Hannah & Adam were going to be near Ruby Beach, which is where we wanted our pictures taken. It all came together so effortlessly, from booking the session to the day of!
Our shoot was so fun, easy and relaxed. I honestly didn’t realize how quickly 2hrs had gone by. It felt like we were just hanging at the beach with our friend! I can’t say this enough, Hannah is incredibly talented, sweet and personable. Truly a master of her craft, and it’s obvious, I mean just look at these photos! 🙂
Hannah was so awesome with guiding us for certain shots & ultimately captured some of my most favorite moments. I am in love with our photos, they are true representations of us and I can’t help but look at them literally every day!
After our session we received some sneak peeks and I was in complete awe! The pictures were stunning but the best part was how excited Hannah was about them! I was equally excited and couldn’t wait to see the full gallery- which was also delivered quickly! The whole experience was just perfect, I’m so happy that we found VTE!!
Can’t wait to work with you again!”
While there are a ton of beautiful beaches on the Washington Coast, Ruby Beach is probably one of our favorites. If you head to the left, you can frolick on the sandy beaches like we did with this couple for their Ruby Beach Elopement. Or you can head to the right and explore the rock formations like we did for this engagement session.
Always make sure to check the tide charts before going to the beach! And be prepared for the unexpected Washington weather. You never know if you’ll get a golden, warm sunset or if it’ll be overcast and raining. But it’s always worth the visit anyway!
Hannah and Adam are a Montana and PNW-based Elopement Photographer + Videographer Team traveling across the US and abroad to capture couples' special days. They firmly believe love is love, Black lives matter, and in respecting our planet.
