Under Canvas is a glamping style tent resort company that has 10 different locations all around the United States. They are known for their luxury camping tents, culinary experiences, and adventure opportunities. Some great features to know about Under Canvas:
We are not being sponsored or anything, but we just really enjoyed our experience with Under Canvas Zion. So, we wanted to share it with you! We did all of the research both online and in-person to give you a summary of why you should stay at Under Canvas, and why it is the perfect elopement stay!
Under Canvas Lake Powell-Grand Staircase
Under Canvas Great Smoky Mountains
At all of these locations, there are some amazing experiences! You can enjoy s’mores by the campfire, seasonal food, and complimentary coffee/tea. For adventures, they offer anything from kayaking and guided hiking to canyoneering and white water rafting. Your options are truly endless! To top it all off, each location offers different camp programs like live music, morning yoga, and outdoor games. While we were at Under Canvas Zion, we got to experience some of these activities, and it really made our experience that much better.
We stayed in the stargazer tent. This one had a full bathroom, equipped with a water-saving shower. We also had a king sized bed with the star viewing port directly above our heads. There was a wood stove (and plenty of firewood) for heat and two chairs with a small ottoman/table. There was also a rule book along with a luggage rack, two bedside tables with battery lanterns and portable chargers on each side, and plenty of blankets to stay warm. It felt luxurious, yet still like you were out in the woods camping. Under Canvas found the perfect balance between hotel and camping!
Both for breakfast and dinner our food arrived to us quickly. Hannah ordered the steak burger and Adam ordered the pulled pork tacos. The food was absolutely delicious! While we ate there was live music and two fire pits that you could sit around to roast s’mores or to stay warm. The s’more materials were also included in your stay, because let’s be real… it wouldn’t be camping if you didn’t make s’mores!
The week that we stayed at Under Canvas, there were several activities taking place each day. It was the week after Halloween, so they had some fun activities like pumpkin painting! There was live music every night along with things like trivia, a colouring contest, and tie dying. It was kind of like summer camp for grown ups!
They definitely want you to have the best experience you can! Employees from Under Canvas texted us before our arrival to see if we were looking for a more contactless experience or for them to be more involved. Another generous thing they did was provide a breakfast voucher and decorated the outside of our tent because we mentioned that we had just gotten engaged. We hadn’t even made a big deal about it, it simply came up because we were asked about how we were enjoying Zion! So, our answer was that we were enjoying it a lot because of our engagement! They took it upon themselves to up our experience by decorating the outside of the tent and providing that food voucher. This speaks a lot to how they want your time at “camp” to be as good as they can make it for you. So, if you’re looking for a great place to celebrate anything, THIS IS IT!
The location was amazing! You are just outside the east entrance of Zion National park with some amazing views. This side of the park is also much less busy and you don’t need to take the bus to get to any of the hikes.
The tent was super clean and well equipped with all of the essentials. The team at Under Canvas truly wants you to have the best “camping” experience you can have. The food was amazing and changes seasonally, which is nice. Unfortunately, you can’t have food in your tent, but that’s completely understandable. Not being able to bring your own food does make your stay a little bit more expensive, but you could take your own food to the lobby and eat it there! You are, however, allowed to have drinks in your tent. They also have no wifi so you are OFF GRID! But the lobby area has super good service, so if you need to contact anyone you are able to. Overall this is the perfect place to honeymoon or celebrate your elopement without having to sacrifice showers and a comfy bed while camping.
