We are a husband & wife team. Based in the mountains of Montana & Washington State, we’ve been photographing and filming couples since the start of 2021.
Welcome to our blog where you’ll discover elopement planning resources, as well as beautiful galleries from real weddings!
These two have been through so much together to get to this point. They hit a lot of bumps along the way with planning their big day, and ended up driving all the way from Indiana to Washington in just a weekend (instead of flying). When we met up with them at The Enchantments trailhead, we began an all day adventure. It wasn’t easy by any means, but these two pursued… And it was so worth it.
The hike to Colchuck Lake is about 4.5 miles, and you gain A LOT of elevation in the last mile. But along the way, you have beauitful overlooks, epic mountain views, lots of forest scenery, and some river crossings. It’s an incredible hike, but it isn’t for the faint of heart.
While we were hiking, we made lots of little pit stops along the way! We found great spots to look out at the views, and the bride had written poems for the groom to read during the hike. How freaking sweet is that?! When we finally made it to the lake, we took a long break before getting ready for their ceremony! We made Mountain House packs for lunch, rested, and took in the views. We had originally planned for sunrise, but the hike was grueling, so we got there mid-morning. But the sun shone PERFECTLY! It was such a warm September day, and these two got to say their vows with one of the best backgrounds in Washington! I (Hannah) even helped the bride with her hair and makeup, which was fun!
After their personal vows, the couple explored around the lake while we took some portraits (and video clips) for them! Then, we packed everything up and headed back down the trail. We were all exhausted by the end of it, but it was beautiful to see two people commit to a life together in a new location!
