Italian Dolomites LGBTQ Proposal

Kelliann originally found us on Instagram and scheduled a couples session at Mount Rainier National Park. Her and her girlfriend, Kaitlin, were traveling to Washington for their anniversary! So Kell surprised her with a sunrise photoshoot to celebrate their love! It was absolutely magical, and it was so amazing to get to meet them both.

Then, Kait reached out to us about proposing to Kell on their trip to Italy in February. She asked if we’d be able to photograph and film it! Of course, we said YES. Kait had an incredible day planned for Kell, and let me tell ya, it was SO hard to keep it all a secret!

We met Kait the night before the proposal and nailed down all of the details. Then, the next day, we snuck into their Hotel and set up all of our gear as the sun was rising. Kait brought Kell down and she had NO idea that Kait was proposing! She was so shocked! She thought they were just going to get their photos taken (because that was what Kait had told her). But instead, Kait got down on one knee, said the sweetest words of love and admiration, and asked Kell to be her wife. We were all so happy and emotional! Everything Kait said and organized was just so beautiful! She had been coordinating with Chalet Al Foss for months about a rose petal walkway leading to a platform with views of the Dolomites. Everything was just beyond magical.

After the stunning proposal, Kait had more up her sleeve! We took some newly engaged photos around the resort. There were some beautiful little sauna cabins and views of the dolomites! We also snapped some pics with the famous Foss Alpacas, Bernard & Happy! It’s safe to say that we were all obsessed with them.

Then, Kait had planned a breakfast in one of the resort’s heated beds! The breakfast consisted of pastries, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, and juice. They invited us to eat with them, and we couldn’t say no! It was so delicious.

Originally, we were going to just take some photos and videos throughout the day. But then Kait and Kell invited us to actually be a part of their day and hang out with them! So, when the helicopter ride came, they invited us to join them. It was such a surprise, but we feel so blessed to not only have been able to document it for them, but to get closer with them as friends! Hanging out with them really made our adventure to Italy so dang memorable!

To end the day, we got food and headed out to a snowy Dolomites trail! We got to see the classic Three Peaks from this beautiful trail. A lot of people were snowshoeing, which would have definitely been a fun adventure. We weren’t prepared for that, though, and we got their JUST as the sun was disappearing! So, we stayed until it was dark and shot in the blue hour lighting. It was beyond freezing, but it was so beautiful! We also heard some sort of mountain lion growl, which was pretty scary! All in all, it was an incredible Italian adventure. We feel so darn honored to have been able to document this incredible proposal!
