Faith and Hannah met when they were about 14, at a CYO summer camp. They saw each other for a few summers, but then they lost touch. Eventually, Faith reached out about doing couples photos and of course Hannah was down! We first shot at Rattlesnake Lake after Faith and her boyfriend, Bradley, hiked Rattlesnake Ledge. Then, we met up again to shoot at Franklin Falls in North Bend, Washington. It’s a short 1 mile hike to the falls, which drops 70 feet! It’s absolutely spectacular. We just recently discovered, though, that the falls actually drops 135 feet because it has three drops instead of just one. But you can only see the last drop from the hike. How incredible is that?!
Anyway, we thought we had gotten to the hike early enough to 1) get good lighting and 2) beat the crowd, but OMG. It was packed already, and it was only like 8 o’clock in the morning. We learned our lesson, though, that if we wanted to beat the crowd, we’d have to go at sunrise in the future! But we got great lighting, and even though it was a bit crowded, there was often enough room to provide more than 6 feet of distance between people passing on the trails.
It was great catching up with Faith after all these years, and meeting her boyfriend, Bradley. Seeing their relationship and how much they care about each other was really amazing! Faith and Bradley were so fun to watch when they were interacting with each other because they have such a fun and lighthearted relationship. They were always goofing around and just having a great time hiking and playing by the water! And then when I’d give them a more intimate prompt, it was like all of a sudden they were the only ones there!
Oh, and we can’t forget to mention that not only did Bradley do a HANDSTAND on a rock near the cliff, but he also fully submerged in the freezing glacial water at the bottom of the falls! We were all shocked. He’s nuts, but also I’m so jealous that he was brave enough to dunk under the falls. Totally awesome! Even though Faith didn’t dunk, she looked like she had because when stood close to the falls, the spray totally drenched them! Faith’s dress was soaked, but she didn’t care at all. She even hiked back with a wet dress! LOL!
Overall, it was so fun to hang out with them and capture their love once again. We are so thankful for both of them and for the fact that they not only hung out with us once, but twice! It means the world when couples come back and want to take more photos with us!
